Description
Where does a real rainmaker come from? What was it used for? What was its material?
The raindrop originally came from South America, where the Incas of Chile used it to influence the weather. A long hollow pipe made of cactus was called a rain pipe. The spines of the cactus were pushed inside the hollow dried plant. Various seeds were then placed inside.
This modern instrument is made of wood, with a plastic spiral and beads. Turn the tube over and watch the beads fall down the spiral, making soothing raindrop sounds. Great musical toy for sensory development.
